Prophetic Times
(God’s Mercy and Love)
Today, November the 5th, is the day after the presidential elections; of historical proportions, for various reasons, in the United States of America. The new President Elect Barack Hussein Obama is a black man who comes from a Muslim background, son of a white woman and of a Muslim father from the country of Kenya. This is the culmination of two years of intensive political campaigning, during which the political issues from all perspectives were debated. And as of today the process for the transition of power has been initiated, so that the new president elect may assume the presidency on January 20, 2009.
In conclusion, the positions and policies of moral value which go against the Word of God are those which the president elect represents. In addition, there is fear that his agenda does not include the unconditional support of the nation of Israel, as he is surrounded by many advisors that do not take kindly to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. What does all this mean?
-Prophetic Happenings-
The election results, the conflict over moral values, the economic crisis which has shaken and will continue to shake this country and the world, the continuing development of nuclear arms by Iran and its threats against Israel, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the awakening of the prophetic bear; Russia, and the threat of Muslim terrorism will continue to develop and worsen and eventually life as we know it today will be a thing of the past. Therefore, it is necessary to examine and view all this from the perspective of God’s word because it is the only place where we can make sense of all the insanity that surrounds us.
-A Shaking-
In light of the word of God, all these happenings are really in our favor and to our benefit. To us, if we’re awake, they are loving and merciful signs and warnings from our soon coming Lord, but not before the shaking of all things, including us, His people, but only so that which is righteous and holy shall remain. It is a purifying process.
This is precisely what Hebrews 12:25-20 tells us. “See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.â€
“And this word, yet once more signifieth the removing those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.â€
All these occurrences are demonstrations of God’s mercy and love. They are tools in His hands to take us to the place of godliness, fear of the Lord, repentance, brokenness and humility so that only those things that cannot be shaken, remain in our lives. His mercy and love are so great that he will never bring judgment without first giving us clear warning and ample opportunity to turn to Him with all our hearts.
-Sound the Alarm-
It is time to issue warning and to sound the alarm. “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand…Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:â€
“And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and repenteth him of the evil… Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:â€
“Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?†(Joel 2:1, 12-17)
-A Call to Fast-
We are proclaiming a 21 day fast, of prayer, repentance and humbling of ourselves before the Lord, beginning November 10 through the 30th, calling all of God’s people that we can contact, to this call. There are some who will fast 21 days straight, some day by day and others in a fasting chain. The important thing is to do it in the manner that the Lord directs each pastor, congregation or believer. Let us pray and plead for mercy upon our families, churches, our cities, our states, and our nation, for Israel and for the nations of the world.
Let us pray and call out that He will awaken us from spiritual stupor and slumber. That He cleanse us, purify us and return us to our first love; for we are entering into the darkest times and greatest period of human suffering in the history of mankind, and it is not time to walk in the flesh nor to be divided by strife and roots of bitterness. But if we heed the voice of the Spirit, the promise of God stands firm; “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.†Arise, shine; for they light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.†(Isaiah 60:2,1) Amen, Lord Jesus! At the darkest time in human history, He will have a people that will shine like a torch in the dark of night.
